MedRune brings questions, flashcards, illustrated explanations and audio into one study workflow. AI helps us develop educational material and supports interactive study. The goal is straightforward: make a difficult mechanism easier to understand, then help you recall it.
Read, listen, explain it back
Read: work through a question or illustrated explanation. Listen: hear a lesson narrated with an AI voice. Explain: use the app's voice study mode to practice saying what you understand and ask follow-up questions.
Try the public chapters on reading the genome, cellular energy and cardiac electrophysiology, or open the study app. Feature access can vary by account, platform and beta availability.
Where AI is used today
- Educational content: AI assists with drafting, explanations, formatting and illustrations. Our editorial tools let the team edit, review and correct that material.
- Narrated lessons: synthetic voices read prepared educational scripts. A narrated lesson is not a recording of a physician speaking to you.
- Live voice study: an AI study partner can discuss material with you. Microphone audio and relevant study context are processed by Google cloud services; transcripts and session records can be saved.
What we're developing next
We are developing more conversational chapter narrations, with clearer pacing, worked examples and recall pauses. We plan to expand text and voice study support while evaluating accuracy, usefulness, privacy and cost. These plans are not a promise that every feature is available today.
Human responsibility, with clear limits
Omer Alavna, MD, leads MedRune's product and editorial work. Review tools and model-based checks support that work, but neither a physician-led product nor an AI check guarantees that every statement is correct. Do not assume each generated response has received individual physician review.
Use MedRune for studying, not diagnosis, treatment or patient management. Check uncertain claims against your course materials and trusted medical references. MedRune is independent of the NBME and FSMB, and does not guarantee an examination result.
Your microphone and study information
Voice study requires your permission. Stop a session whenever you wish; you can also revoke microphone permission in your browser or device settings. Do not share patient identifiers or confidential clinical records. Read our Privacy Policy and data-deletion instructions before using interactive AI.
